General Information:The house (renovated in 2002), like the street of the same name, deserves to be discovered slowly, little by little, all the time savouring its gentle, romantic, welcoming atmosphere. Eça de Queirós, the famous Portuguese novelist, is connected to the hotel by tradition and there are those who say that he lived and found inspiration here in this palace for another magical home - "O Ramalhete" in his novel "Os Maias". The memory of his presence is still very much alive in the atmosphere we find ourselves immersed in: small objets d'art, books, paintings and mementoes take us back to another era now being relived.Location:It is located in the old part of the city, near the Ancient Museum near the Tagus river in an area where the embassies are concentrated.Area:Next to the National Art Museum in the beautiful Rua das Janelas Verdes. Recreation: There is a magnificent library on the top floor with a picture window opening onto a balcony. An ideal place for quiet reading with the rooftops of Lisbon below, the cruise ships at their terminal, and the wide river Tejo (Tagus) stretching out below.
